“Founders shouldn’t stay bosses forever” – When it’s time to make room

Founding a startup is an emotional undertaking. Over months, years, or even decades, blood, sweat, and tears literally (and often literally) flow into the company.
Their own limits are often forgotten – or fade into the background over time. Like parents, founders feel responsible for their startup and believe they know their company better than anyone else. It's not for nothing that founders like to call their startup "my baby."
But startups – just like children – are designed to grow and develop. And their needs change during this time. And at some point in every founder's life, there probably comes a time when they have to let go – for the good of the company. But many aren't able to see this at first, says entrepreneur Marcus Diekmann .
The prominent serial entrepreneur, investor , and mentor frequently interacts with founders . "I regularly have someone sitting at my kitchen table crying and asking me: Am I still the right person for my startup?" He's asked no other question more often.
